Here’s what’s next for this former downtown Wilmington coffee shop

A downtown Wilmington space could get new life after a coffee chain closed last winter.

Dunkin’ closed its downtown Wilmington location at the end of 2025, leaving a vacancy on the ground floor of a prime location at the corner of Third and Princess streets. The space, located at 101 N. Third St., is part of a five-story office building anchored by Truist Financial.

Charlotte-based firm Hilltide Capital purchased the building for $15 million in November 2025, and agents with Cape Fear Commercial are searching for the next tenant to fill the street-level space…
