ICCSD board to hold closed personnel session as financial scrutiny grows

The Iowa City Community School District Board of Directors added an action item to its upcoming April 28 meeting to vote on whether or not to hold a closed session to discuss personnel contracts among district administrators.

A closed board session is a meeting closed to the public, usually to discuss confidential and professional matters permitted by law, such as personnel issues or legal matters.

To enter into a closed session, the board must publicly vote in an open session to enter into a closed session, state its justification, limit discussions to that purpose only, and make any final decisions in an open session afterward to comply with Iowa law…
