Gaming nonprofit raises $1.8M for hospitalized children at Eastern Michigan event

YPSILANTI, MI — Gamers Outreach raised more than $1.8 million in charitable donations at its annual Gamers for Giving LAN Party, a sold-out event held April 10-12 at the George Gervin GameAbove Center at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, according to an April 14 press release.

The nonprofit organization provides entertainment to hospitalized children through video games. The three-day event near Ann Arbor brought together hundreds of video game fans, players, streamers and content creators for a weekend of competition and community activities.
