FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The Fort Wayne Police Department announced Wednesday the opening of the Downtown District.
Mayor Sharon Tucker, Police Chief PJ Smith and Downtown Captain Jeremy Webb shared remarks at a press conference at the Downtown District Outpost, 647 Webster St.
This new district will have dedicated officers and an office for them to work out of, making it easier for the department to respond to downtown issues. It has been in the works for more than two years…
