Jackson Youmas explains his plans for Alachua after winning commission race

ALACHUA, Fla. (WCJB) — Jackson Youmas will be sworn in next Monday for Alachua County Commission Seat 3 after defeating incumbent Dayna Williams by 370 votes.

Youmas received 833 votes, while Williams received 463 votes and challenger Bill Menadier received 310 votes.

Youmas said he decided to run for the seat after hearing concerns from residents about growth and development in the city. He said residents told him they felt the growth was out of hand and that they weren’t being listened to by current elected officials…
