Santa Rosa Schools Reach Record $6 Million Settlement Following Campus Tragedy

Santa Rosa City Schools has agreed to pay more than $6 million to settle lawsuits stemming from the fatal 2023 stabbing at Montgomery High.

The district will pay $3.5 million to the family of Jayden Pienta, who lost his life, and nearly $3 million to the family of Daniel Pulido. This agreement was reached just weeks before the case was scheduled to go to trial.
