EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A gas leak triggered a full evacuation Wednesday, April 15 at Torre Centinela after construction crews accidentally struck a natural gas line, officials said.
According to authorities, workers from the Junta Municipal de Agua y Saneamiento were conducting storm drainage connectivity work outside the tower when they punctured a gas pipe, causing the leak.
Although the incident was not directly related to operations inside Torre Centinela, safety protocols required that all personnel be evacuated as a precaution while crews worked to contain and repair the damage.
