Mississippi Walk for Williams Syndrome Returns to Florence May 16

The second annual Mississippi Walk for Williams Syndrome will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Hemphill Park in Florence from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organizers are working to spread awareness and invite the community to take part in a meaningful day centered on remembrance, support, and hope.

This year’s event builds on the success of its inaugural year, with the addition of a car show that will feature plaque giveaways. Attendees can also look forward to a variety of activities, including a community walk where participants can walk as much or as little as they choose, along with door prizes, food trucks, local vendors, a silent auction, and games for children. The event is designed to offer something for everyone while bringing people together for an important cause.

Participants can register to walk by texting “Mississippi” to 71777, with a $20 registration fee. Donations can also be made through the same number, allowing those who may not be able to attend to still contribute to the effort. Organizers hope to see strong community support, whether through walking, donating, or simply coming out to enjoy the day and shop with local vendors…
