It’s been a long wait- since 2024 we’ve kept an eye on the former Texas Roadhouse location (4810 S Loop 289) for a new restaurant to arrive, and now we finally know when Umiya is set to open, May 1st.
Thanks to Kelsee Pitman for spotting this!
What Will Umiya Be?
Umiya will be an all-you-can-eat concept offering sushi, hotpot, appetizers, tempura, hibachi, teriyaki, and more. Dinner will be about $32 for adults and about $17 for kids (free for 2 and under). There is a 2-hour time limit, and wasted food could incur an extra charge (this is a standard practice at most AYCE sushi places to prevent waste).
It appears that menu items will be available for purchase to-go, with each item priced like a non-AYCE restaurant. I was unable to find if per-item ordering will be available for dine-in.
