City of Bakersfield cuts ribbon on newest affordable housing units

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Through a project with Chelsea Investment Corporation along with local and state funding, the latest affordable housing option in Bakersfield was unveiled.

The project that finished on time and on budget, offers 60 new units from single- to three-bedroom units.

“Twenty five of those units are set aside for farmworkers that are working in the industry here,” said Ryan Lundergan, a project executive for Chelsea Investment Corporation.

The final $1.3 million funding from the state, and something the community is eager to grow…
