Florida Fugitive Hauled Back In Killing Of Ellenville Mom Of 2

A 28-year-old Orange County man has been brought back to New York and charged in the killing of a Hudson Valley mother of two, a case that has shaken the village of Ellenville. Authorities say Michael David Carman is accused in the death of 29-year-old Nicole Izabella Perez, who was found inside her Clinton Avenue apartment during a welfare check in late March.

Tracked To Florida, Returned To Ulster County

According to Daily Voice, investigators followed leads to Clay County, Florida, where Carman was located and taken into custody as a fugitive from justice. He was extradited and brought back to New York on April 13, 2026, and is being held at the Ulster County Jail. Officials say he is scheduled for arraignment in Ulster County Court on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
