SWAT Standoff: Man Dies By Suicide In Lyndhurst (UPDATE)

A man died. by suicide after barricading himself inside a home and firing a weapon during a SWAT response early Thursday morning, April 16 in Lyndhurst, authorities said.

The incident began at approximately 5:33 a.m., when the Union County Prosecutor’s Office and Lyndhurst Police attempted to execute an arrest warrant outside a home on Lake Avenue, according to Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of Detectives Jeff Angermeyer.

During the attempted arrest, the subject fled into the home and barricaded himself inside, authorities said. The Bergen County Regional SWAT Team was notified and responded, taking positions around the residence while attempting to negotiate with the individual from outside, Angermeyer said…
