WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Stay cool and well hydrated as daily temps approach records in the deep 80s to lower 90s right through the weekend. On Sunday, a strong cold front will do its best to conjure a cooling afternoon thundershower from the stubbornly dry atmosphere, especially between 1 and 9 p.m. as it looks now. Following the front, brace for some crisp and much chillier nights, for a change, with 40s likely on the Cape Fear map early Monday and Tuesday. Long range trends include rebounding temps and, should we be so lucky, more rain chances, late next week and into Aprilβs final weekend…
