Citizen appeals dismissals of Columbia County data center rezoning lawsuits

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A Columbia County resident who sued county leaders over two high-profile data center rezoning decisions has now filed appeals, asking the Georgia Court of Appeals to review Superior Court orders that dismissed his cases.

Court filings show Gregory P. Guido Jr. filed three notices of appeal on April 13 in Columbia County Superior Court.

According to the filings, Guido is appealing orders of dismissal “with prejudice” in the following cases:

  • White Oak rezoning — The notice states Guido is appealing an Order of Dismissal with Prejudice signed March 19 and filed March 25.
  • Pumpkin Center rezoning — The notice states Guido is appealing an Order of Dismissal with Prejudice signed and filed March 25.
  • Quarry rezoning — The notice states Guido is appealing an Order of Dismissal with Prejudice entered and filed March 25. notice requests that the entire record of the case — including pleadings, exhibits, transcripts and orders — be prepared by the clerk and transmitted to the Georgia Court of Appeals.
