Two firefighters hit by falling debris during house fire in northeast Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say two firefighters are being checked for injuries after a Thursday afternoon house fire that ripped through one home and caused damage to several properties.

The fire was reported on Sandfarm Trail in The Falls subdivision of northeast Richland County around 1:40 p.m. Arriving crews found one home already burning heavily when they arrived, and several nearby homes threatened, leading to a call for a second alarm to free up more resources.
