Montgomery’s LEAD Academy buys former church property for new high school

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Montgomery charter school L.E.A.D. Academy is expanding and will create a second campus to serve as a dedicated high school.

The academy says it has purchased the building that was formerly home to Whitfield Memorial Methodist Church, located at 2673 Fisk Road. It will be converted into a new space just for LEAD’s 9th through 12th grade students.

The charter school currently serves students in pre-K through 11th grades, with its first graduating class set to get their diplomas in the upcoming 2026-27 school year…
