Baker police chief speaks about ‘deplorable’ home where six children were found alone

BAKER, La. (WAFB) – Baker Police Chief Carl Dunn is speaking out about a case where six children were found alone in a home with conditions he described as deplorable, saying his department’s priority is not punishment but help.

A neighbor’s phone call in late March brought Baker police to a Wilson Street home where the six children were living without supervision. The oldest was 11. The youngest was 3.

“The neighbor was concerned because one of the children had run outside, unattended and unsupervised. And so, upon us arriving at the house, the children were sitting inside,” Dunn said…
