New coastal Mexican-inspired restaurant to open at Pearl

Just ahead of the sweltering days of summer, visitors may catch a soothing sea breeze at Pearl next month.

A new restaurant is set to take over the former home of the seafood-forward Allora in the Credit Human building in May. (A)mar will aim to showcase the culinary flavors and traditions of coastal Mexico and other Latin American countries. Co-founders Carlos and Clarece Clavijo say the new spot will specifically draw inspiration from their travels through Mexico with a focus on Tulum and Oaxaca. The unusual punctuation in its name has a dual-purpose meaning “to love” and “the sea” in Spanish, the Clavijos explained in a media release.
