Few years ago I did a National Parks trip out west. On our way down to Zion we decided to stop in Salt Lake City.
I figured Downtowns are usually nice in any city and provide lots to do, even a Motel 6 there would be decent
Boy was I wrong. I am not sure if SLC’s DOwntown is just really *******, but there were Drug Dealer and Hookers all over the parking lot. The floor was hard vinyl because you can tell they just have to do regular hard cleaning of various fluids. It was about as unsafe as I have ever felt

The Dad’s Inn for the night of the Rocket / Wisconsin game in 2011. I think it was shut down a year later, now a UHaul storage facility…
