DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) – A Decatur police officer is on leave after a woman claims he assaulted her following a traffic stop last month.
Heather Mauffray told WAFF 48 that Officer Malachi Compton assaulted her on March 25 in her driveway after pulling her over for tinted windows and failing to use her turn signal. She says other officers showed up on scene later, saw her injuries and called for an ambulance.
Mauffray says she left her mother’s house late that afternoon and was driving home when Compton started tailing her in her neighborhood. She says there were no lights or sirens, so she kept driving until she got home…
