St. Joseph’s Academy’s Amalia Terry-Lee waited patiently.
The Redstickers trailed Zachary 79-76 in the Grizzly Relays girls standings heading into the final event, the 1.600-meter relay. The sophomore served as the anchor leg, and with each second watching her teammate race toward her with the baton built up her nerves.
Terry-Lee got the baton and took off with a slight lead. She finished a hair behind Alexandria’s anchor leg, but St. Joseph’s second-place time of 3 minutes, 56.72 seconds helped the team finish second in the relay and secure the third-best time in the state on Thursday at Catholic High…
