From homelessness to hope: Phoenix-area veteran helps her sisters in arms

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — For many veterans, coming home from service starts a new fight — finding a place to live and a way forward. One group facing this battle is often overlooked: women veterans.

The VA says women veterans are four times more likely to become homeless than their male counterparts. When Jas Boothe experienced that reality firsthand, she decided to do something about it.

She created the nonprofit Final Salute, focused on getting homeless women veterans off the street and into stable housing. So far, the group has helped thousands of women veterans in need.
