Travel Forecast: Severe weather outbreak in Plains

AUSTIN (KXAN) — An active, stormy April weather pattern is in full-swing, and the Storm Prediction Center has highlighted parts of the U.S. Great Plains for a level 4/5 (Moderate) severe risk for Friday.

Large hail, damaging winds, and frequent tornadoes are possible in (not limited to) Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. The severe weather risk in Texas is very limited.

On Saturday, the severe threat pushes east, with a level 2/5 (Slight) severe risk issued for parts of Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York.
