Ralph’s Records Hosts Exclusive Vinyl Drops For Record Store Day In Lubbock

I love Record Store Day, and this year my “short list” is actually quite long, as there are many exciting potential titles to choose from.

What Is Record Store Day?

Record Store Day was created to celebrate locally owned, independent record stores by releasing rare, limited, special-edition titles exclusively for Record Store Day. So if you want your mitts on any of these vinyls (there’s sometimes other formats too), you need to go to Record Store Day.

RSD does work a bit like a lottery. Not every title is at every record store. Record Stores choose the titles they want to stock, but may not receive everything they order, due to the limited nature of these titles. For a list of titles that may be available, head here. I do recommend looking at that list and taking a couple of notes, so you know what you’re looking for when you get there.

It is first-come, first-served, so some folks may line up early for certain titles (I absolutely saw that last year for a Taylor Swift release). Some titles may only have one or two copies, so come with back-up choices, too!

Where To Celebrate In Lubbock

The only record store that is currently participating in RSD is Lubbock’s longest-running independent record store, Ralph’s Records on 82nd & Indiana. They will also be offering $2 off all used vinyl, CDs, and DVDs during the event…
