WAIMANALO, Hawaii (Island News) — A Honolulu police officer shot a gun at a dangerous dog in Waimanalo on Friday morning where a man was injured by the dog, but the dog was not hit by any of the shots fired.
The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) said District 4 officers responded to a report of a dangerous dog on Kalanianaole Highway in Waimanalo at 8:22 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026. When officers got to the scene, an officer saw a dog behaving aggressively toward multiple people, which then became aggressive towards him.
The officer fired his gun multiple times towards the dog, out of fear for his safety. The dog ran off and was later located nearby…
