ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — A split vote by county leaders is drawing concern from fire officials after funding was approved for one station — but not another — leaving questions about conditions, fairness, and what comes next.
Earlier this week, Allen County Council approved $1.7 million for improvements to the Aboite Fire Station, while declining to fund a proposal tied to the Arcola Fire Station.
That decision followed a broader request from fire officials, who initially proposed a $3.3 million plan to renovate both stations, including about $475,000 needed to purchase the Arcola buildingbefore any upgrades could begin.
