A Wildwood man was arrested on drug charges after being stopped at the Days Inn with rolled marijuana.
A deputy observed 31-year-old Austin Joaquin Burgos driving a gold Chevy passenger car with dim tag lights eastbound in Wildwood around 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Due to this, a traffic stop was conducted at the Days Inn by Wyndam, located at 551 SR 44. Burgos advised that he was headed to see his wife in Lake Panasoffkee. Also mentioned during this conversation was the fact that he did not have a medical marijuana card despite the smell of the substance coming from an ashtray in the vehicle, the report said.
A subsequent inventory of the interior determined the smell came from marijuana rolled into brown cigarette paper. It clearly weighed under 20 grams, the report said…
