A Texas mother filed a lawsuit against Uber and one of its drivers, alleging that she and her two young children were subjected to a harrowing and “violent” experience while riding as passengers last year.

According to a complaint filed in El Paso County District Court in Texas on April 1, Cynthia Sarabia alleged that their ride with her two kids was unsafe from the beginning. The document said that Sarabia did not have control over the Uber app used to request the ride and could not cancel or terminate the ride through the app, because the ride was requested from an account that was not her own.

Sarabia stated that one of her children did not have a functioning seat belt during the ride. Sarabia said in the complaint that her concern was ignored despite alerting the driver to the issue…
