New chip-checking station in Springfield helps to get lost pets home

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -A new resource in Springfield will help get lost pets back home faster.

The first-ever 24/7 ‘Check the Chip Station’ is opening in front of the Springfield Animal Advocacy Foundation’s building. It gives people around-the-clock access to a microchip scanner.

The scanner is inside the box, along with leashes to secure the animal. There’s a sign next to it with five-step instructions on how to use the scanner…
