5 new restaurants opened in Eugene in March

It seems that, in spring, the Eugene restaurant scene began to bloom. Five new restaurants came to town, offering new flavors and fun classics to diners looking to expand their palate. Chef Distro opened his food truck, Gwen’s Homestyle Kitchen, serving Southern fare like catfish, candied yams, collard greens and peach cobbler in different kinds of combo plates. Romulo’s, a new Mexican restaurant, opened on Coburg and another new venture opened right next door.

Steam & Soul also opened on Coburg, a new Chinese spot serving dumplings, buns, and wok dishes. Alchemy Coffee House is Eugene’s newest coffee shop, and opened in March close to the riverfront district. In late March, 2ManCru began bringing burgers and sandwiches back to Oakway Golf Course, providing the first hot food option the course has had in years.
