PORTLAND, Ore. – LC State Women’s Track and Field put up solid marks at Lewis & Clark College’s Larry Byerly Invitational on Saturday to cap a busy weekend across the region.
“Pretty long weekend, but a very good one,” coach Mike Collins said. “Finally had some decent weather, and even though we were a little bit short on some performances, overall, we had a pretty outstanding set of days. Some new conference qualifiers, more names are in the record book and a huge positive outlook towards the last couple of meets of the season as we head into conference and hopefully nationals for a lot of these athletes.”
Damaris Kibiwot ran the third-fastest 10,000m in program history and third best in the Cascade Conference this season to start the meet. She clocked a time of 37:37.25 to place second. Lily Bennett was fifth (39:33.21) and Lilly Gilbert finished seventh (41:11.24)…
