PORTLAND, OR – Trenton Johnson now owns all four horizontal jump records at LC State after a record-breaking leap in the outdoor long jump on Saturday at Lewis & Clark College’s Larry Byerly Invitational. The senior from Nampa has the best jumps in Warrior history in the indoor and outdoor triple jumps and long jumps.
“Pretty long weekend, but a very good one,” coach Mike Collins said. “Finally had some decent weather, and even though we were a little bit short on some performances, overall, we had a pretty outstanding set of days. Some new conference qualifiers, more names are in the record book and a huge positive outlook towards the last couple of meets of the season as we head into conference and hopefully nationals for a lot of these athletes.”
Johnson landed his school record long jump at 6.93m to finish third at the meet. Camden Koerner also leapt into the record book at No. 3 with a mark of 6.89m to finish fifth.
