Massachusetts-born BJ’s Wholesale Club begins Texas invasion

One of the country’s most popular grocery stores, which also sells kitchen items, clothing and more, is finally in Texas. The first location of BJ’s Wholesale Club is opening April 24 at 11150 E. U.S. Hwy. 80 in Forney, about 25 miles east of Dallas.

For those uninitiated with BJ’s Wholesale Club, it’s a big deal. Much like Costco and Sam’s Club, BJ’s customers are members who, for an annual fee, have the opportunity to buy items at a store, and typically for discounted prices. Those items can range from everyday groceries to household items, appliances and gas for the car.

The new Forney location of BJ’s will have a bakery, an optical center, an apparel and footwear department and a tire center, along with a gas station. Ahead of the new BJ’s opening in Texas, the onsite gas station is already in operation…
