Freeze Warnings Issued For Multiple States

Freeze warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) as it forecasts that temperatures could drop to below freezing for a number of states, in most cases from Monday night, lasting into Tuesday morning.

States Affected By Freeze Warnings

The NWS has issued freeze warnings to the following states, as they’re most likely to be affected by plummeting temperatures: Ohio, West Virginia, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Iowa, Michigan and Delaware, as well as Washington, D.C..

The NWS warns that freezing and subfreezing temperatures could kill crops and sensitive outdoor plants, and damage outdoor pipes. It’s urging those in impacted areas to take steps now to protect plants and crops and to either drain or wrap any outdoor water pipes to stop them from bursting.

Ohio

Parts of southeast Ohio could see temperatures fall to 30 degrees Fahrenheit, and Athens, Morgan, Perry and Vinton Counties could see temperatures as low as 26 degrees Fahrenheit.

Delaware, Fairfield, Hocking and Licking Counties could see temperatures plummet to around 32 degrees Fahrenheit, from Monday evening until around mid-Tuesday morning, and certain parts of east central Ohio could see temperatures fall to around 26 degrees Fahrenheit overnight on Monday.

West Virginia

On Monday night into Tuesday morning, parts of central, northeast, northern, southeast, southern, and western West Virginia could see sub-freezing temperatures of around 30 degrees Fahrenheit…
