The Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating family members for three people who recently died in the area.
Officials say the individuals had no known next of kin at the time of their deaths. Anyone with information is urged to contact the coroner’s office at 205-930-3603.
One of the cases involves 76-year-old Carole Lynne Howard of Birmingham. She was pronounced dead on April 12 in the 2500 block of River Haven Drive. According to officials, Howard died of natural causes while under hospice care, and her social worker and caregiver reported no known family.
Another case involves 70-year-old Steven Edward Royal of Hueytown. He was pronounced dead on April 16 at a residence on Brooklane Drive. Authorities say Royal had been a tenant at Baron House of Hueytown since 2016 and was receiving hospice care. He is believed to have no living relatives and was the only child of his late parents. Officials noted he attended Leeds High School, graduating in 1972.
The third case involves 57-year-old Robert Glenn Strong Jr., who was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital on April 14. Officials say Strong died of natural causes while hospitalized. He previously listed an address in Birmingham but was believed to be homeless in the Pelham area at the time of his death. No family members have been identified…
