Don’t Forget To Visit Your Grandma
My Grandma Dooley is a crazy woman, so it didn’t surprise me to hear she recently fell and needed help. I stopped by Donut Bank to grab her a bag of House Blend (her favorite) and drove up to Haubstadt to check in on her and visit for a while. Grandma Dooley tells some of the best stories, whether they’re about Grandpa, her days working at Anchor Industries, or bragging on her great-grandchildren; they’re just a little bit better coming from her. Before her recent accident, and still to this day, I don’t visit Grandma Dooley enough. I don’t visit any of my own family enough. We’re all caught up in the hustle and bustle of today’s fast-paced world. I was doomscrolling today and came across this video that moved me, and quickly reminded me how important those moments with Grandma are, not so much for me, but for her. Our parents, grandparents, and elders are the keepers of our stories. They know everything about family and how we got to where we are today. When I watched this video, I instantly wanted to visit my Grandma…..
