A fast-moving garage fire in a Centennial neighborhood turned into a two-alarm scare on Monday afternoon, leaving two homes damaged but everyone accounted for. South Metro Fire Rescue and mutual-aid crews hit the scene quickly, got water on the flames, and pushed into both structures for primary searches. Officials reported no injuries. Units from the Aurora Fire Department and deputies from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office also rolled in to help at the scene.
According to KDVR, South Metro Fire Rescue said the incident started as a garage fire that spread into a neighboring house, triggering an upgrade to a second alarm and pulling in extra resources. KDVR noted that photos from the scene, credited to South Metro Fire Rescue, showed crews concentrating on keeping the blaze from spreading further while teams completed primary searches of both homes.
