SURPRISE, AZ (AZFamily) — Newly released body camera video shows the moment Surprise officers shot a man who threatened to hurt himself and others while armed with a knife.
The shooting was reported at a home near Reems and Cactus roads in the early morning of December 11, 2025. A 911 caller reported that an intoxicated man was making suicidal threats while holding a knife, according to Surprise police.
“He’s holding up the knife to his throat right now; I’m outside,” the caller says. “He’s outside with me…now he’s pointing it at me. I’m trying to get him away from the house.”…
