Five young men face federal charges following Spokane-area ‘Operation Young Guns’ investigation

SPOKANE, Wash. — Five men between the ages of 19 and 21 are facing federal charges after being arrested in connection with an investigation into weapons trafficking and gang violence in the Inland Northwest.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that its Regional Anti-Violence Enforcement & Narcotics (RAVEN) Task Force has been investigating several shootings since March 2025, including a deadly shooting at the North Spokane Maverik last year, and was able to connect them to a street gang that has allegedly been trafficking weapons to teens.

The sheriff’s office says shell casings from several crime scenes were matched to casings recovered from two locations in Kalispel, Montana.
