AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Augusta community leaders are showing their support for SPLOT 9 ahead of the May primary vote.
They are encouraging voters to approve a continuation of the one cent sales tax. The budget proposal is $750 million to be used across Richmond County. It includes $16 million for Blythe and Hephzibah.
“SPLOST 9 we feel, is such a well rounded opportunity for this community,” said Bennish Brown, President and CEO of Destination Augusta. “It is a continuation. It is not something that’s new. So it makes it easy. Let’s continue. What has helped to bring Augusta this far? And we talk about momentum. There’s momentum in Augusta. Very strong momentum. And that’s where we need to keep moving forward.”…
