Niagara Falls Police have initiated a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead inside a city apartment complex Monday morning, marking the first homicide of 2026.
Officers were dispatched to Niagara Towers shortly after 11am for a welfare check on a resident. Upon arrival, patrol officers discovered a deceased woman inside the unit.
Following the discovery, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division and members of the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and began processing evidence.
