Alabama native Tim Cook to step down as CEO of Apple

Cupertino, Calif. (WAKA) – Apple CEO and Alabama native Tim Cook is stepping down after more than a decade leading the tech giant.

Cook, who grew up in Mobile and graduated from Auburn University, is credited with leading Apple to become a $4 trillion company after taking over for Steve Jobs in 2011.

In a statement, Cook said it has been the greatest privilege of his life “to be lead such an extraordinary company.”…
