Day 1 is Thursday, Sept. 10. The first days off, those associated with the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, come a few weeks later (Rosh Hashanah is over a weekend this year). Vacation schedules are set.
And the last day of school is on a Monday? No doubt that one will come up for debate…
