EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said that a man who died in custody back in March was “exhibiting erratic behavior consistent with a possible altered mental state.”
The Sheriff’s Office filed a custodial death report with the State of Texas detailing what it says happened when 46-year-old Roel Contreras died in custody on March 20.
Much of what the Sheriff’s Office reported to the state had been had previously reported by KTSM.
