Law enforcement blocks Ridglan Farms operation, leading to injuries and arrests

Animal rights activists freed 22 dogs from Ridglan Farms in a rescue operation last month, making national headlines. But in a second raid on Saturday morning, local law enforcement met the crowd of protesters with tear gas, pepper spray, and rubber bullets – and none of the remaining dogs were rescued.

Jamie Hagenow, co-founder of local animal rights group Dane4Dogs, was there and joined this morning’s rally to describe what she witnessed.

“I have never in twenty years of activism seen this kind of cruelty towards unarmed, nonviolent activists singing chants to help save dogs with their arms raised in the air,” Hagenow said…
