Kansas City Zoo welcomes three new otter pups

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is introducing the public to the most ‘otterly’ adorable new additions.

On Monday, the zoo took to social media to post about three new river otter pups that were born last month to Ursula, the zoo’s 8-year-old-North American river otter.

The zoo said the pups have spent recent weeks forming a bond with their mother and will soon be learning to swim and eat fish.

In nature, river otters enjoy a varied diet – often consisting of fish, as well as amphibians and turtles. When hunting, river otters use their facial whiskers to detect vibrations from nearby prey…
