Over 28,000 drivers flagged on I-25 speed camera; now issuing fines

MEAD, Colo. (KDVR) — Drivers traveling north on Interstate 25 between Mead and Berthoud are now facing fines after a month-long warning period in a busy construction zone flagged tens of thousands of vehicles for speeding.

The Colorado Department of Transportation said its automated enforcement system issued 28,554 warnings between March 1 and April 1, 2026, as cameras monitored speed through the work zone.

Each vehicle could only receive one warning notice, even if it were recorded speeding on multiple days during the monitoring period.
