Brandon Valley, West Central claim softball wins

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Brandon Valley and West Central softball teams began the week with wins Monday.

The Lynx, who are ranked No. 4 in Class ‘AA,’ secured a 9-8 come-from-behind win over Pipestone Area at home. The Arrows jumped out to a 6-1 lead after four innings. The Lynx responded with three in the fifth and one in each of the sixth and seventh to force extras. Pipestone retook the lead with two in the top of the eighth before BV plated three to walk it off in the bottom of the eighth.

The Trojans, the No. 4 team in Class ‘A,’ rolled to a 15-3 win at fifth-ranked Elk Point-Jefferson. WC trailed 2-1 after the first and then took the lead with three in the second. The Trojans’ big rallies came in the fourth with seven runs and in the fifth with four more…
