Beach Boys announce Schenectady concert marking 60 years of ‘Pet Sounds’

The Beach Boys will bring the “Good Vibrations” to Schenectady’s M&T Bank Center on Aug. 1.

Alongside the iconic rock ‘n’ roll band’s catalog of hits, the Beach Boys will be celebrating 60 years of their critically acclaimed concept album “Pet Sounds,” which featured the hits “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “Sloop John B.” The album ranked second on Rolling Stone’s list of the greatest albums of all time in 2003, 2012, 2020 and 2023.

The Beach Boys’ ascent to musical fame began as a family affair between brothers Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, along with their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine. Their songs defined the California sound with their harmonies, originality and lyricism reflecting the SoCal lifestyle of the 1960s.
