21 people arrested following police operation in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced 21 arrests following a weekend enforcement effort aimed at reducing crime in parts of the city.

Police said the initiative, known as “Operation Queen City Safe,” focused on areas within the Metro Division located north and west of uptown Charlotte. According to officials, the operation was designed to disrupt open-air drug activity, remove illegally possessed firearms, and target individuals believed to be contributing to violent crime.
